We’ve taken the confusion out of confusing car hire terminology.
Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with our terms and conditions of rental:-

METHOD OF PAYMENT
You can pay by credit card, debit card, cash (APPLICATION FOR CASH PAYMENT) or direct bank transfer. For cash payment, please ensure that this is done in advance and that proof of payment is faxed to us: 086 558 1263

Credit Card: Payment is by embossed credit card only, the card holder must be the renter and the credit card is not transferable. Regrettably we cannot accept cheques. Two credit cards are required for the rental of Luxury and multi passenger vehicles. We require a minimum of R6 000 per card as a deposit.
What charges will come off my credit-card?
Upon collection of the vehicle, your credit card will be charged with the rental amount, an additional day’s rental, a tank of fuel and any extra expenses e.g. Additional drivers. On return of the vehicle and when your final invoice has been calculated, any monies due back to you should be refunded within four working days. Any amounts due to LMCR will be charged to your credit card.
Additionally an authorization hold will be placed on your card for a portion of the excess amount; this hold will be released within 2 working days once the car has been returned.
Other Methods of Payment: We accept travel vouchers from a bona-fide travel agent and corporate vouchers issued to a corporate by Last Minute Car Rental.

DRIVERS LICENSE
A valid, unendorsed license must be produced by the hirer or authorized driver, the license must have been valid for two years.

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
  • An additional driver surcharge applies
  • Additional drivers may only be nominated and authorized by the Renter
  • Additional drivers license requirements as per Point 2 above
  • Additional drivers may not extend rentals.
  • No additional drivers may be added during the rental unless the vehicle is inspected beforehand at LMCR
  • During weekend rentals the official Renter should accompany additional drivers while using the rental vehicle
  • The Renter is liable for all risks/charges applicable to usage of vehicle by the nominated additional driver

WEEKEND RENTALS
Weekend rates are available from Thursday 12:00 to Monday, 12:00, must include Saturday and Sunday. Minimum two days, maximum four. No grace period will be considered for late return of cars and rates will be considered for late return of cars and rates will revert to daily rate.

CROSS BORDER RENTAL
No vehicle may cross any RSA, Namibian, Botswana, Mozambique and Swaziland border without prior consent from LMCR. A letter of authority must be obtained from the renting branch and cross border fees apply. Waiver coverage into these countries is at the discretion of LMCR at time of rental. Waivers don’t apply. 

RENTAL EXTENSIONS
Their can be no extension of rental without prior authorization by LMCR. Unauthorized extensions negate collision and theft cover.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES
The following list of extra’s additional charges: Delivery & collection, after- hour’s drop-off or collection, additional drivers, additional equipment i.e. Baby seat, young drivers, cross-border fees, call out fees where no vehicle replacement is necessary. Stamp duty in Namibia re also additional charges, in some instances these are already included in our rates. Should you require a breakdown of these costs, our Rental Agents would be happy to provide these to you.

FUEL
All rates include maintenance and oil but fuel is not included, vehicles are delivered with an empty tank and should be empty again on termination. Most of our fleet uses unleaded fuel. Please note that fuel cannot be purchased with a credit card – cash only.

CONDITION OF RENTAL
  • Rates are inclusive of the ruling VAT amount at time of rental.
  • Rentals are charged until such time as the vehicle keys are returned.
  • Keys must be returned to authorize LMCR personnel, failure to do so will result in the Renter being fully liable
    for the value of loss or damage. In the event of loss of keys, the Renter will be responsible for all resultant
    costs.
  • Rentals are charged per 24 hours; late return of the vehicle will result in being charged an extra day.
  • All fines and penalties incurred in the duration of the hire are the liability of the Renter. Including valets for
    vehicles, returned in conditions that are not accepted as normal.
